Hermanus is situated in the unique and attractive area of Walker Bay which is surrounded by ocean, mountains, and miles of white beaches. Hermanus with its breathtaking nature and famous cliff paths is known as the best land-based whale whatching spot in the world. Only a few meters from land, along the cliff paths, one can see playful whales in the bay, which makes Hermanus one of the best places in the world where you can watch these magnificent creatures. Whales are best seen during the period July, when the magnificent Southern Right Whales arrive, to early December. In September the whole town prepares itself for the whale festival and thousands of tourists from around the world are present to celebrate the magnificent Southern Right whale\u2019s arrival. Other whales spotted in Walker Bay, Hermanus is Humpback Whale and Bryde’s Whale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
